Scanning Superiority
The CHROMA Tx is very fast, with lightning speed-rated at 8"/sec in Black/White and 3"/sec in Color. Color is captured at 42 bits for maximum color precision, passing the best 24 bits of color data to the computer to enhance color fidelity. Real time color correction and 2D-filters for color sharpening, softening and blur provide superior results with a wide variety of input images.

Graytones are captured at 14 bits for maximum precision, passing the best 8 bits of graytone data to the computer. The CHROMA Tx 40 can scan up to 0.6-inch (15mm.) thick originals such as posters mounted on foamboards, gatorboards etc.

The Contex All-Wheel-Drive with contour adjustment and precision rollers ensures a perfectly straight scanning path without using unnecessary force so you avoid both image distortion and damage to your customer’s fragile originals.

Image Enhancement Power
With Dual 2D-Adaptive enhancement processing is performed simultaneously and in real-time on individual aspects of the original. Enhancement includes ADL+ error diffusion halftoning, 2D-Adaptive foreground thresholding, 2D-Adaptive background suppression and 2D-Auto edge enhancement. Equipped with this image enhancement power you can always produce clean, crisp scans even from poor quality drawings.

Precision Color
Contex color scanners are the markets only wide format scanners that can be user-calibrated to output color in accordance with international color standards (NTSC, sRGB color spaces) using an ANSI IT8 calibration target. The unique Precision Color System lets you calibrate in the field at any time ensuring stabile and predictable color output.

Easy Scanner Maintenance
Contex scanners are designed to let you concentrate on your work and take optimal scanner performance for granted. The CHROMA Tx scanner incorporates the 3C Maintenance system that keeps your cameras perfectly aligned, adjusted and calibrated for optimal image quality. Once the scanner has been fine-tuned, it performs a number of basic tasks on its own, removing those tedious chores required with other scanner systems. Using patented Contex technology, camera stitching and black-white-points are constantly monitored and corrected while your scanner is running.

The three CHROMA scanner models, 3040, 6040, 8040 differ in performance from entry level to high-end and can be easily upgraded with new features for future requirements through the Smart-Card Upgrade Kit.
